WHO WE ARE

The Catholic Undergraduates Organization/Association was started by Rev.Fr Pere Wasswa who happened to be the chaplain of my high school, St. Joseph’s secondary school Naggalama found in Mukono district. The organization is to contain only male undergraduates till it reaches its peak, the main reason as to why only male undergraduates are members is based on the fact that many males are running away from Catholicism while others are sidelining the religion especially because of the fact that very few understand what’s taught and done in the Catholic Church. Catholic values are emphasized in many catholic schools which happen to be the best schools in Uganda, Academically and socially, these schools include Namagunga girl’s school, Namilyango college, and St. Joseph’s secondary school, among others. Over the years, catholic schools have topped the charts for best morals, co-curricular activities and academics.
One of the major objectives of our organization is to make life a living heaven for the needy, sick and orphans. This is done through our volunteer services. It should be noted that many of our members are also former members of the Naggalama volunteer group and we all hold a bond so strong and unbreakable. The school where this organization originates is one of those very few if not the only school that has an active volunteer movement. In high school, members of the volunteer movement used to contribute to the environment like planting grass and trees, they also took an active participation in all religious activities especially organizing and making sure that retreats in school are a success. The volunteers have also visited and helped in community service like cleaning the St. Francis Hospital Naggalama. We are the future of our nation; we take a step towards that direction.

With a heart of gold and a mind full of love, and honesty,
We come to the world as young souls
Innocent as we can be,
Easily misguided, easily tempted, quick to judge.
With goodness we show up, to develop, to teach,
The young lads of this nation
To the ways of God, through peace,
Love, honesty and most of all,
Through Prayer
